Organic SEO Vs Search Engine Marketing

The art of Copywriting is basically learning how to write persuasive words specially written for your targeted customer. When selling your product or service on the internet, words are the most important factor in determining your success. A professional well designed web site is a very important part of making sales, but without effective sales copy your web site will be ineffective. The aspect of writing good strong copy arises from a well thought out understanding of two essential things: who you are speaking to, and what you want to say. There are no neutral words when you are trying to be persuasive, every word must be doing real work and every sentence must be necessary. When you are writing for web, special care has to be taken to have SEO and Copy Writing go along together.

In order to maximize sales and profits, these are some of the essential effective elements you must have as a copy writer.

The first and the most important part of your entire sales copy will be your headline. Most visitors usually read the headline only, and if it does not grab their attention they will move on and never come again. So your headline should demands attention and forces your visitor to read on..

Secondly, you need to direct the attention of your visitor to your introduction. The introduction should be brief and to the point. Don’t say in two sentences what you can say in one, make each point once and make it effectively. Let the visitors know exactly what you have to offer them.

Thirdly when you begin writing your paragraphs, get to the point right away, negativity and hype are to be avoided. Your sales copy should be packed with benefits from your headline straight through to your order form. Remember your visitors want to know exactly what your product or service can do for them. Write down everything that can do your customer some good. Everything.

Fourth, do not try too much, it is difficult enough to get your audience to read, understand and accept one message. Stuffing too many messages into a single sale copy confuses and loses the reader. Sometime a copywriter is hit with a sudden burst of creativity, and writing ends up saddled with clever turns of phrase that don’t contribute anything but wit. You have to avoid this and stick to the point.

Fifth, you have to know your audience that you are attempting to address. This will help you determine the type of message you are suppose to create. When you determine your exact audience you will be able to choose the words, phrases and references that will influence their behavior.

Sixth, you should write for your Readers, write their language and address their concerns. A research is very important to understand more about your targets. Some formal or informal market research may be needed.

Seventh, when you are writing the copy you must write as if you are speaking to only one person, although it is your job to determine the group of people that comprises your audience. Human nature pays attention when a comment or statement is directed toward him, and easy to ignore statement that appear to be directed toward a group of people. Write your web copy as if you are speaking to one person to maximize the chance that each viewer of your target group pays attention.

Eighth, include a PS at the very bottom. Almost everyone reads the PS statements. PS statements you want to add, make your last call for action by either promising something or telling them that your offer may expire soon.

Ninth, Some visitor prefer short sales copy, however it has been proved also that long sales copy out-sells short sales copy. You can give your visitors both.

Tenth, include testimonials all through out the sales copy. You can get testimonials by giving your product for free to a certain number of people and have them tell you how they feel about it. If they have websites just tell them that you will include their website in your sales copy if they write testimonials. Testimonial helps to make customers who cannot make up their mind whether to buy your product or not, and they will have more believe when they see what other people are saying.

Effective copywriting can mean the difference between success and failure, and simple well designed web sites with well effective written sales copy make the greater impact.
